Changelog

  • Initial rules posted - August 12th, 2020
  • Sections ‘3.4’, ‘3.5’ & ‘6.2’ were Updated - August 31st, 2020
  • Sections ‘2.1’, ‘3.3’, ‘4.3’,‘8.1’ & ‘8.2’ were Updated - January 16th, 2021

1. Clan Rosters

  • Up to 15 player members in total.
  • 1 leader.
  • Up to 3 co-leaders.
  • Non-players are allowed but they can’t play in any wars.
  • Leaders/co-leaders can be non-players.
  • You can’t add non-players to the active roster unless by a normal member transfer.

2. Member Changes

2.1. Transfers

  • A member cannot rejoin a clan they left or were kicked from.
  • Transfers are processed Monday night of every week. Failure to submit a transfer by 11:59 am EST results in a player not being eligible to play until the following week.
  • A member must be in a clan for a minimum of 2 weeks before they can transfer.
  • You can only transfer from a clan to another clan once per season.
  • A clan can only transfer 3 clan members from another clan to theirs per season.
  • Can only recruit new members before playoffs.

2.2. Removing Members:

  • A member can only be kicked (removed) after they are refunded their part of the entry fee. However, if a clan member leaves on his own, a refund is not required.
  • In case of a dispute, at least 60% of the clan needs to agree with kicking the player.

3. Wars

3.1. Scheduling

  • Each clan pair must agree on a schedule before the end of the clan war season week.
  • Each clan posts their day and time availability, then both work together to agree on a suitable date and time for their war. In case of scheduling failure by Friday of the week, a moderator has the right to intervene.

If there are issues scheduling:

  • A moderator will ask both clans about the situation, their time availability, and why they are unable to agree on a schedule.
  • Based on that information, the moderator suggests possible times that balance any time zone difference for the sake of solving the issue.
  • In case a time cannot be agreed upon, a moderator decides the schedule by prioritizing the clan with the most time availability, and issues a scheduling strike for both clans. Check the Warnings section for more information about schedule strikes.

3.2. War Format

  • Player line-up: 5 players + 1 optional sub player.
  • Best of 3 rounds with 5v5 dueling. Best of 3 matches in each round. Each player is locked into 1 deck with an optional 7-card/skill side deck that is submitted before the war.

3.3. Pre-War

  • One of either clan’s leaders pings the opposing clan to start preparing for the war.
  • Submit full decklists, Duelist IDs (for each player) and player line-up to your respective clan channel in the Discord server. Do not edit your submissions. In case of a change, re-submit your decks and only the last submission will be used.

3.4. Playing the War

  • If a mod is available, he may create the room for the wars. In the case there is no moderator available to create the room, one of either clan’s leader/co-leaders ping the opposing clan role in the war room with a Duel Room ID. The Duel Room should be created with the following rules:
    • Room name has the format “1% vs B&P”.
    • Casual rules.
    • Room capacity = 15.
    • No entry conditions.
    • Normal regulation settings.
    • Recruit Members/Spectators = OFF.
    • Spectate/View Replays = ON.
    • Duel Timer = 180.
  • Opposing clan responds to that ping with their player line-up. This is the lineup you submitted to your clan channel beforehand.
  • The clan that initiated the first ping responds with their player line-up.
  • Non-players are not allowed to join the room (including subs), and spectating is not allowed. See the Warnings section for more information about penalties for spectating. Only the official streamer(s) and non-clan moderators may join and spectate.
  • After the first round is concluded, the losing clan can now “counter-pick” for round 2. The winning clan keeps the same player line-up while the other clan is free to change the order and swap one player with their sub player. See the Time Rules section for information on time limits between rounds.
  • The counter-picking clan pings the opposing clan with their player line-up to start round 2. (There is no need to post the counter line-up in your clan channel.)

4. The Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ)

The top 10 clans after the regular season will enter the playoffs. Two remaining clans will enter the playoffs through the Last Chance Qualifier.

4.1. LCQ Format

  • Single elimination, best-of-1 round. Best-of-3 matches with side deck. Last man standing format.
  • Eligible clans: Clans ranked 11th-22nd after the end of the regular season. 11th-14th-placed clans get a round 1 bye.
  • The top 2 clans qualify for playoffs. No finals. These clans will also each win 5 meta tickets.

4.2. Playing in LCQ

  • Submit up to 15 players with full decklists to your respective clan channel in the Discord server.
  • Submit your 5-member player line-up in your clan channel at the start of every round. You can change your players/order after every round. Ping @everyone for the opposing clan’s line-up after you have submitted yours to your clan channel. When they respond, you can then respond with your order. Asking for your opponent’s player order before you submit will be punished as “wrongful submission”.

4.3. Last Man Standing

  • You must immediately (within 5 minutes) pair up with any opposing Clan Member that has won their match after you won yours. Neither clan chooses the match-ups for the follow-up matches in LCQ rounds.
  • If more than 1 opposing clan member is available for a follow-up match, you pair based on player order: 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5. There is no discussion/planning with follow-up matches in LCQ rounds.
  • Any suspected manipulation for follow-up matches will be punished:
    • Delaying your results.
    • Not communicating to try to force a temporary favorable match-up.
  • Ping the opposing available clan member and they will be punished if they do not respond within 5 minutes.

5. Playoffs

5.1. Round Endings

  • 1st round: The first to 3 match wins takes the round win and immediately ends the round. Do not play it out. You need a leader/co-leader from both clans to confirm/agree that 3 match wins happened.
  • 2nd round (last man standing): If the clan that lost round 1 gets 3 match wins (across both initial and follow-up matches), they win the round and the round immediately ends. The clan that won round 1 must eliminate the entire opposing clan (before they get 3 match wins) to win round 2, abiding by the normal last man standing rules.
  • 3rd round: Normal last man standing rules.

5.2. Timing

  • Between the semi-finals war and the finals war (which happen on the same day), the competing clans will have 10 minutes to discuss and submit their new decks and rosters for the finals.

6. Time Rules

  • 10 minutes for the opposing clan to respond to the initial ping at the war’s start time.
  • 5 minutes for the clan that initiated the ping to respond to the opposing clan with their player assignments.
  • 5 minutes to start the war.
  • 10 minutes to be ready for round 2 and 3 after the previous round ends.

6.1. Draws

  • In game 1: Both players take a win and proceed to game 3.
  • In game 2: The game 1 winner wins the match.
  • In game 3+: Start another game, the winner of which wins the match.

6.2. Penalties

  • Over 10 minutes late to respond to the clan battle ping = double match loss applied to 2 of the players picked by the penalized clan.
    • Over 20 minutes late = automatic round 1 loss.
    • Over 30 minutes late = automatic war loss.
  • Up to 5 minutes late with player line-ups (after the initial 10 minutes) = match loss and a reminder ping towards their clan.
    • Over 5 minutes late (after a reminder ping) = double match loss.
    • Over 10 minutes = round loss.
  • Up to 5 minutes late to your duel = game loss and a reminder ping towards their clan.
    • More than 5 minutes late to your duel (after a reminder ping) = match loss.

No penalties are applied without a reminder ping, and the timer for escalated punishments starts from the time of the reminder ping

  • (No penalties are applied if there was no reminder ping).
  • (Timer starts from the reminder ping).

7. Disconnections, Bugs, and Glitches

  • Any disconnection, when the player does not have sufficient proof of a bug or proven lethal that turn, will be ruled as a game loss. No restarts will be granted.
  • For all bugs, the best way to ensure you can prove what happened is to have a recording with in-game audio ready to show to the moderator handling the dispute. This recording is required to have a chance at being granted a restart.
  • Under no circumstance is a player allowed to grant himself a win or a restart. Always bring in a moderator for any dispute.

8. Cheating and Unsportsmanlike Conduct

8.1. Player Warnings and Clan Warnings

Detailed Clan Wars punishment system.

Player warnings are logged, and apply incremental punishments based on the number of points a player has. In this document, a reference to this system will be shown as (Offense+X), where Offense is the number of severe warnings a player has received (including any they are currently receiving), and X is a number to assign a more severe punishment. These punishments are based on the resulting number of points, and are as follows:

Player Warnings:

  • 1: Game Loss
  • 2: Game Loss
  • 3: Match Loss
  • 4: Match Loss
  • 5: Week Suspension + DQed from current round (player is not “locked” in any additional sense, if the clan would be able to swap the player out should he have not gotten DQed, they will be allowed to do so)
  • 6+: Additional punishments up to the discretion of the moderator team

Clan warnings:

If a clan receives two clan warnings during one season, further punishment will be discussed between the moderators and senior moderators. This can range between a round loss, a war loss or even a full disqualification from Clan Wars.

  • Missing cards from the extra deck:
    • Verbal warning, unless it provides an advantage.

8.2. Cheating Definitions

  • Illegal main deck size:

    • The player is required to immediately concede the game when realizing their mistake.
    • If the player doesn’t concede and does not admit to their mistake before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+0) and a player warning.
  • Using side deck cards during game 1:

    • The player is required to immediately concede the game when realizing their mistake.
    • If the player doesn’t concede, but does admit it before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+0) and a player warning.
    • If the player doesn’t concede and does not admit to their mistake before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+1) and a player warning.
  • Using an entirely wrong deck:

    • The player is required to immediately concede the game when realizing their mistake.
    • If the player doesn’t concede, they receive a (offense+1) and two player warnings.
  • Using any cards not found in the submitted decks:

    • The player is required to immediately concede the game when realizing their mistake.
    • If the player doesn’t concede, but does admit to their mistake before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+1) and a player warning.
    • If the player doesn’t concede and doesn’t admit to their mistake before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+2), a player warning and a clan warning.
  • Using excess copies of cards found in the submitted decks:

    • The player is required to immediately concede the game when realizing their mistake. Because of the severity, they will receive a (offense+1) and a player warning.
    • If the player doesn’t concede, but does admit to their mistake before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+2), a player warning and a clan warning.
    • If the player doesn’t concede and doesn’t admit to their mistake before a moderator is alerted, they will receive a (offense+1), two player warnings and a clan warning.
    • Further investigation will be done by the moderators and senior moderators and if malicious intent is found conclusive, the punishment can immediately be escalated to (5) a suspension for this player.
  • Submitting an incorrect Duelist ID:

    • If the player made a typo, there will be no action taken.
    • If the player submits the wrong ID entirely, they will receive a (offense+1) and a player warning.
    • If the player submits the wrong ID and it turns out he was playing on a banned Duel Links account, they will receive a (temporary) ban from Clan Wars.

In any case not previously mentioned, punishments will be discussed between the moderators and senior moderators.

Note: Conceding for any of the above will still result in a game loss for that game. There will be NO restarts under any circumstances.

8.3. Illegal Players

Examples

  • Players who are not on the roster.
  • Players who are signed up as non-players.
  • Players who have an active suspension.
  • Players who aren’t submitted in the roster for that week.

Penalties

  • A clan warning for cheating is logged.
  • At the first offense, the illegal player will be disqualified from every match they played in.
  • At the second offense, a round loss will be applied in addition to the illegal player being disqualified.
  • At third third offense, Dkayed and the moderators will discuss further punishments based on intent and severity (possibly including a disqualification of that clan from Clan Wars for the rest of the season).

8.4. Spectating Games

Only the streamer or a moderator is allowed to spectate a game.

Penalties

  • If a spectator is seen during a game and it’s impossible for the moderator to determine who the spectator is, both clans will be given a warning.
  • The warnings will be logged.
  • These warnings carry for the entire clan, for the entire season.
  • In the case of multiple warnings, action will be taken by the moderators, depending on intent and severity.

8.5 Collusion and Match Fixing

Clan leaders are allowed to forfeit a match, as long as there is no incentive (offer) to do so.

Penalties

  • In the case of forced forfeiture (blackmail, bullying), the offending clan will be disqualified from Clan Wars for the rest of the season.
  • In the case of attempted bribery to forfeit a war, Dkayed and the moderators will discuss the nature of the punishment based on intent and severity (possibly including a disqualification of that clan from Clan Wars for the rest of the season).

8.6. Proper Conduct in War Rooms

The most important rule: Respect everyone. The following is not tolerated:

  • Verbal abuse, insults, or threats towards others.
  • Discriminatory jokes and language, hate speech (which calls out a player/clan by their age, race, gender, etc.).
  • Flooding the chat (including bot commands, caps lock messages, emotes, role pings, etc.).
  • Sharing NSFW content (images, videos, etc.)

Penalties

  • We will remove messages and issue a DQ / game loss.
  • Subsequent misconduct and cases of extreme severity will result in a ban from Clan Wars.

9. Warnings and Punishments

Punishments can be given out in different circumstances, each with their own consequences depending on the severity and intent of the action.

9.1. Schedule Strikes

  • If a moderator has to step in during scheduling and force a time (because a clan hasn’t scheduled before Friday 12am EST and is unable to come to an agreement) schedule strikes will be given to both clans.
  • Schedule strikes will be removed if the warned clan has had no new strikes in the past 2 weeks.
  • In the case of a scheduling dispute involving a clan with a scheduling strike, the moderator will give priority to the available time of the opposing clan.
  • In the case of two scheduling strikes, depending on intent and severity, the moderators may give an official punishment of a round loss applied to the upcoming war.

10. Refunding Entry Fees

Any attempt to refund/“charge-back” the entry fee will result in all clan members being permanently banned from Clan Wars.
